MANILA, Philippines — The southwest monsoon or habagat will bring overcast skies with rains in Metro Manila and many parts of the country on Friday, the state weather bureau said.
In its Thursday forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that aside from the capital region, Zambales, Bataan, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), Mimaropa (Mindoro Occidental, Mindoro Oriental, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan), Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Bicol Region, the entire Visayas and Zamboanga Peninsula will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.
The areas not mentioned will experience a fair weather condition with partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, according to Pagasa.
Pagasa weather specialist Raymond Ordinario said the habagat prevailed since the Intertropical Convergence Zone has weakened.
Ordinario said the state meteorologist has not monitored any typhoon for the next three days.
Pagasa did not raise a gale warning to any seaboards nationwide, Ordinario also said.
