LUCENA CITY — More than P120,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) were seized on Wednesday, July 6, from three suspected drug pushers in Laguna and Rizal provinces, reports said Thursday.

The Police Regional Office 4-A said anti-narcotics agents nabbed Ronaldo Bacayawa after he allegedly sold P500 worth of shabu to an undercover cop acting as a drug user in Barangay (village) Gatid in Sta. Cruz, Laguna around 5:30 p.m.

Seized from the suspect were three plastic sachets of shabu worth P76,800 in the street market.

In Taytay, Rizal, members of the police drug enforcement unit collared Joseph and Gabriel, both surnamed Villarta, in another sting operation in Barangay Sta. Ana around 10:30 a.m. The relationship between the suspects sharing the same family name was not specified in the report.

The suspects yielded seven sachets of shabu worth P44,200 and an undocumented caliber .38 gun with three bullets.

Police were tracking the source of the illegal drugs.

All suspects are under police custody and face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The two Villartas will also be slapped with another case for illegal possession of a firearm.
