MANILA, Philippines — Authorities arrested three suspects and seized from them more than P4 million worth of illegal drugs in separate operations in Caloocan and Bacolod, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Wednesday.
According to a PNP report, the Bacolod drug operation was conducted in Barangay Singcang-Airport on Tuesday. It led to the confiscation of P2.8 million worth of crystal meth, or shabu, from a high-value drug suspect who was arrested.
The suspect was later identified as Christine Dacumos, 36, who was deemed a major player in the city’s illicit drug network.
The Caloocan operation was conducted in Barangay 54, where police officers arrested two suspects and seized from them 200 grams of crystal meth worth P1.36 million and 120 grams of kush dried leaves worth P168,000.
The suspects — identified as Jess Noriega, 41, and Emmanuel Joseph Bendal, 31 — are linked to activities involving gun smuggling, according to the PNP.
The officers also seized from them a .45-caliber pistol with two magazines loaded with 14 rounds of ammunition.
The suspects will face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
