2-year-old boy among new COVID-19 cases in Olongapo City

OLONGAPO CITY — The number of active COVID-19 cases in this city climbed to nine on Wednesday after recording two new infections, local health data showed.

According to the city’s COVID-19 task force, the new patients were a two-year-old boy from Barangay Pag-asa and a 77-year-old man from Barangay East Bajac-Bajac. Both displayed symptoms of the viral disease.

The new cases raised to 7,019 the total number of COVID-19 infections registered here since the pandemic struck in 2020. At least 6,659 infected patients were cleared of the disease while 351 died due to complications.

A total of 13 suspected COVID-19 cases were also being monitored here as of Wednesday.
