MANILA, Philippines — The first day of registration for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections in December was “generally peaceful and orderly,” the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said Tuesday.
“Ang pinakamaganda sa aming na-obserbahan [ay] generally peaceful and orderly ang pagpila ng ating kababayan [sa pagre-rehistro],” acting Comelec spokesperson Rex Laudiangco said in during the Laging Handa briefing.
(The most pleasing observation we have seen is the generally peaceful and orderly queue of registering people.)
“Maganda po ang aming nakita sa paglahok ng ating mga kababayan across all the regions nationwide. Naging maganda ang turnout natin [at] naging mataas ang turnout natin,” he added.
(We saw the excellent participation of the people across all regions nationwide. Our turnout has been good and high.)
