TUGUEGARAO CITY—A 20-year-old woman in Luna town, Isabela province, was allegedly shot and killed on Sunday, July 3, by her live-in partner, who was jealous over reports that she was having another affair, police said.

Lieutenant Colonel Sherwin Cuntapay, Cauayan police chief, identified the fatality as Lyka Mae Asirit of Barangay San Isidro in Luna, while the suspect was identified as Louie Desamito, 30, of Barangay Luyao, also in Luna.

Investigators said the couple had an argument while staying at their farm in Luyao.

Asirit reportedly walked out, prompting the suspect to follow her on board his motorcycle.

Investigators said when Desamito finally caught up with Asirit, he shot her twice in the head, causing the victim’s instant death.

Police later arrested Desamito, who admitted killing the victim.
