MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday recorded 1,323 new COVID-19 cases that also raised the number of active infections in the country to 9,703.
According to the DOH’s COVID-19 tracker, these new infections also raised the country’s caseload to 3,708,271 nationwide, with 3,637,976 recoveries and 60,592 deaths.
The new cases were also double the average number of infections recorded from June 20 to 26 at 662.
Metro Manila still led the list with the highest number of infections (by a large margin) per region in the last two weeks with 5,520 cases, followed by CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) with 2,107 cases and the Western Visayas with 958.
Quezon City, meanwhile, topped the list of cities in Metro Manila with the most reported COVID-19 cases at 1,183, followed by Manila with 737 and Makati City with 729.
The DOH tracker also showed that a total of 17,074 individuals have been tested for COVID-19 on Saturday, July 1.
