Pagasa: LPA expected to form near Visayas, Mindanao on Monday
MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area (LPA) is likely to form by Monday and will trigger rains in most parts of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Saturday.
Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja said the LPA may either form near Eastern Visayas or the Caraga region.
“Yung unang scenario natin, possible na may mabuo na low pressure area as early as Monday dito po malapit sa Eastern Visayas. And then from Monday and Tuesday, tatawirin ang silangang parte ng Pilipinas papunta sa eastern part of Luzon. Pagsapit naman ng Martes, ay tatawirin ang Southern Luzon ng nasabing low pressure area, na possible din mag-enhance ng habagat sa Luzon, Visayas at western part of Mindanao,” Estareja said.
(There is a possibility that a low pressure area may form as early as Monday. And then from Monday to Tuesday, it will cross the eastern parts of the country. On Tuesday, the said low pressure area may cross Southern Luzon, which could also enhance the southwest Monsoon in Luzon, Visayas and Western part of Mindanao.)

Saturday weather
Estareja said the easterlies or the warm winds from the Pacific Ocean is the current dominant weather system on Saturday.
The easterlies bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Davao Region, Agusan del Sur and Surigao del Sur.
Pagasa did not raise any gale warning over the country’s seaboards.
