P97,000 meth seized in Mabalacat City
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga—Anti-narcotics agents arrested Wednesday three people who allegedly yielded P97,900 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) at a makeshift drug den in Dau village in this city.
In a statement, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Luzon (PDEA-CL) identified the arrested suspects as Ruben Cruz, 61; Daisy David, 49; and Alvaro Balmores, 20.
The agency said the suspects are on the watchlist of suspected drug personalities of PDEA and Philippine National Police.
It said a PDEA-CL agent, who pretended to be a drug user, bought a sachet of shabu from the suspects using a marked peso bill.
After the exchange, PDEA-CL and local police stormed the place and arrested the trio.
Article continues after this advertisementLawmen allegedly confiscated from the suspects eight sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 11 grams, assorted drug paraphernalia, and the marked money.
The suspects would be charged with violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, the PDEA-CL said.
