LPA to bring rain over Palawan, Western Visayas, Zamboanga — Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — A low-pressure area (LPA) is forecast to bring rain over Palawan, Western Visayas, and the Zamboanga Peninsula on Wednesday, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
According to Pagasa weather specialist Ana Clauren in a weather report late Tuesday afternoon, the LPA was last spotted 140 kilometers east of Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
“Nanatiling mababa ang tiyansa na ito ay maging isang bagyo at hindi rin natin inaasahan na maglalandfall sa anumang bahagi ng ating bansa, at posible rin itong mag-dissipate sa loob ng 48 hours,” said Clauren.
(The chances of it becoming a typhoon remain low and we do not expect it to make landfall in any part of our country, and it is also possible for it to dissipate within 48 hours.)
With this, the LPA is expected to bring overcast skies and rain over Palawan, said Clauren.
“Magdadala rin sa Western Visayas pati na rin sa Zamboanga Peninsua ng maulap na panahon dala pa rin ng LPA at may mga kalat kalat pa rin po ‘yan na pagkidlat at pagkulog,” said Clauren.
(It will also bring cloudy weather to Western Visayas and the Zamboanga Peninsula still brought by the LPA with scattered lightning and thunder.)
Meanwhile, the rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will generally experience fair weather with chances of rain in the afternoon and evening.
Despite an LPA near Palawan, Clauren said that Pagasa raised no gale warning over the country’s seaboards, where only slight to moderate sea conditions are expected throughout the country’s surrounding coasts.
