MANILA, Philippines — Health Secretary Francisco Duque III has approved the recommendation of the Health Technology Assessment Council (HTAC) for the booster shots of teens aged 12 to 17.
Speaking to INQUIRER.net, Duque also said that the guidelines for the booster shots may be released on Tuesday.
“Yes, but please wait for the implementing guidelines, hopefully within the day, that will be included as basis (of) the HTAC recommendation,” Duque said in a text message on Tuesday when asked to confirm if he had already approved the recommendation of the HTAC.
Around 14.6 million individuals or only about 26 percent of the eligible population had received their first booster as of June 13.
The National Vaccination Operations Center also said that the government has already fully vaccinated 70,005,247 individuals or 77.78 percent of the target population as of June 17.
