MANILA, Philippines — Generally fair weather will continue throughout the country on Monday, with rain caused by thunderstorms forecast in the afternoon and evening, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
“Malaking bahagi ng Luzon ay makakaranas ng maaliwalas na panahon sa umaga hanggang lumalaki ‘yung tiyansa ng pagkidlat at pagkulog o mga thunderstorm sa hapon hanggang sa gabi,” said Pagasa weather specialist Obet Badrina in a weather report late Sunday afternoon.
(Large parts of Luzon will experience clear weather in the morning with an increasing chance of lightning and thunder or thunderstorms in the afternoon until nightfall.)
The same weather condition will also prevail in the Visayas and Mindanao, as well as rain due to thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.
No storms or low pressure areas are expected to enter or form within the country’s area of responsibility.
“Maliit pa rin ‘yung tiyansa na magkaroon tayo ng bagyo sa mga susunod na araw, at least sa linggong ito,” said Badrina.
(The chances of us having a typhoon in the next few days are still small, and at least for the rest of this week.)
Meanwhile, Badrina also reported that no gale warning was in the country’s seaboards as only slight to moderate sea conditions are expected throughout the country’s surrounding coasts.
Wave height during slight to moderate sea conditions only range from 0.6 to 2.1 meters.
