PH weather will be hot, humid on Tuesday, says Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — A sizzling Tuesday is likely due to the ridge of a high-pressure area, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

This condition will prevail in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, as well as in the Visayas and Mindanao, although chances of isolated rain in the afternoon and evening remain, said Pagasa weather specialist Chris Perez.

Pagasa on its website defined the ridge of a high-pressure area as a “relatively narrow extension of an anticyclone or high-pressure area.”

“Mainit at maalinsangan ang mararanasan dito sa Metro Manila, kung magkakaroon ng pagulan na dulot ng thunderstorms mas malaki ang tiyansa sa dakong hapon at gabi,” Perez. reported in Pagasa’s weather bulletin late Monday afternoon.

(It will be hot and humid here in Metro Manila, with a high chance of rain caused by thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.)

He added that the same weather will also prevail throughout the rest of Luzon on June 14 with the hot temperature peaking at 35 degrees Celsius in Tuguegarao City.

“Mainit at maalinsangang panahon din ang bubungad sa Visayas at Mindanao, tiyansa ng mga thunderstorm activity isolated cases lalo na sa dakong hapon at gabi,” Perez added.

(Hot and humid weather will also begin in Visayas and Mindanao, while isolated cases of thunderstorm activity may occur in the afternoon and evening.)

Perez further reported that no gale warning was raised by Pagasa over the country’s seaboards because only slight to moderate sea conditions are anticipated throughout the country’s surrounding coasts.
