MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga—The most wanted person in Imus City was arrested Wednesday in Angeles City, the Central Luzon police disclosed on Thursday, June 16.
In a statement, the Police Regional Office 3 said the cops arrested Carlo Vital based on a warrant issued by Judge Adeliza Magno-Gingoyon of the Imus, Cavite Regional Trial Court Branch 4 for two counts of rape. No bail was recommended for the suspect.
Angeles City and Imus City police officers served the warrant on Vital at Sameera Subdivision in Sapalibutad village.
In Sta. Maria village in this city, a suspect in the robbery of a convenience store died while being chased by the local police.
The PRO3 said Mabalacat police were in pursuit of two motorcycle-riding men who robbed the Alfamart in Bundagul village, when they chanced upon the riding-in-tandem.
The police said the backrider pulled a gun and fired shots at the cops when the latter tried to pull over the motorcycle-riding men.
The police fired back and chased the duo.
“Upon reaching Barangay Sta. Maria bridge, the back rider accidentally fell from the motorcycle while firing shots at the cops, causing his instantaneous death while the driver sped away, leaving his companion,” police said.
The Mabalacat police allegedly found a caliber .38 revolver with seven fired cartridge cases and a sling bag at the crime scene.
