LDS Church donates equipment to provincial hospital

THE Humanitarian department of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS Church) headed by Elder and Sister Hardick, Mabuhay Deseret Foundation represented by Emmanuel Hernandez and Dr. Branson Call of LDS Charities donated medical equipment to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) on B. Rodriguez Street, Cebu City.

The equipment were given to VSMMC Eye Center at the Out-Patient Department.

“The church aims to help the less fortunate individuals who cannot afford the expensive eye operation and treatment.  This is part of our mission to reach out to the poor,” said Hardick.

The brand-new items from the United States included eye scanners, microscopes and other eye operating machines. These were received by Dr. Cymeer Go and hospital director Dr. Jerry Aquino. “We are glad to have these equipment as we have a lot of patients from the municipalities of Cebu who need these,” said Aquino. /CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V.
