Palace condoles with family, friends of deceased ex-NPC president Lobo
MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Thursday expressed its condolences to the family and friends of veteran newsman and former National Press Club (NPC) president Alfredo “Fred” Lobo, who passed away recently.
Lobo was found dead in his condominium in Malate, Manila, on Tuesday, June 14. It was not immediately known what the cause of his death was.
Acting presidential spokesman Martin Andanar described Lobo as a “veteran journalist whose beat included the Malacañan Palace” for Manila Bulletin.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the loved ones of Mr. Lobo in this period of mourning. May he rest in peace,” he said in a statement.
Lobo served as NPC President from 1995 to 1998.
