Vegetable noodles for relief—DSWD
Relief goods have to be quick and easy to cook, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be healthy as well.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) intends to purchase vegetable-enriched instant noodles to add to its stockpile of relief goods, it said in a statement Tuesday.
The department’s regional office in the Cordillera Administrative Region has teamed up with the Benguet Vegetable Processing Center of the Benguet State University for the purchase of 6,384 pouches of vegetable noodles worth P60,000.
The DSWD said the veggie noodles are more nutritious and have a longer shelf life compared to the instant noodles available in the market. Instant noodles are a staple in relief packs given to victims of disasters. Leila B. Salaverria
