LUCENA CITY—Two men were stabbed, while two others were mauled by drunken suspects in separate incidents Sunday in Quezon province.
The Quezon police said Daniel Gracias, 61, was heavily intoxicated around 11:30 p.m. and beat Armando Canlas and Sherilyn Ella with steel pipes in Dalahican.
The victims suffered injuries and were rushed to St. Anne General Hospital here. The suspect escaped.
Investigators said the families of the suspect and victims had a long-running feud.
The report said the suspect is known to be unruly when drunk.
In Sariaya town, Victor Ramos allegedly stabbed at 5:30 p.m. Paulo Carlo Perez, while the two and several others were having a drink in Barangay Castañas.
Police said the two had a heated argument that prompted Perez to leave and avoid trouble.
But the suspect followed, and after another confrontation, Ramos repeatedly stabbed his drinking buddy in his chest and abdomen, police said.
The victim was brought to a hospital in this city for treatment. Village watch men arrested the suspect.
Another dispute between drinking partners in Candelaria also led to a stabbing.
Police said Renato Suayan and Rogelio Maranan were having a drinking spree around 2 p.m. in Barangay Mayabobo when a heated altercation erupted between them.
Suddenly, Maranan stabbed Suayan once, hitting him on his body. The report did not specify the weapon used in the stabbing.
Suayan was rushed to a local hospital, and Maranan was arrested. A report said “personal grudge” was the motive behind the stabbing. INQ
