'Shabu' worth P58,000 seized in Naga City

LEGAZPI CITY — Anti-narcotics operatives arrested Monday two suspected drug traders and seized more than P58,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) in separate buy-bust operations in Naga City in Camarines Sur.

Master Sergeant Tobias Bongon, Naga City police spokesperson, said in a report that Randy Novelo, 44, was arrested after selling a sachet of shabu worth P17,500 to an undercover agent in Barangay (village) San Felipe at around 1:30 p.m.

Bongon said the confiscated illegal drugs weighed about eight grams with a market value of P54,400.

Novelo was on the illegal drugs watch list in the Bicol region.

In the same village, Rodel Sumpay, 31, was also arrested in a separate operation at around 3:32 a.m.

The authorities confiscated a sachet of shabu worth P1,000.

During the body search, another two sachets of shabu were recovered with a market value of P3,000. INQ
