Robredo hopes Sara Duterte will continue her programs at OVP
MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Leni Robredo on Sunday expressed hope that her successor, Vice President-elect Sara Duterte-Carpio will be continuing the projects that her office had started.
Speaking in her weekly radio program, Robredo also assured that her office is already holding transition meetings with Duterte-Carpio
“Sana … ‘yung mga nasimulan ay tuloy pa din. Nagkaroon na ng several na transition meetings. Okay naman,” she said.
(I hope…those we started will continue. There have already been several transition meetings. It turned out okay.)

(I think to a large extent it will continue. Maybe the more questionable are the non -institutional programs, because we have started many programs that are not really part of the OVP.)
(For example this Angat Buhay, it is not part of the OVP. Many programs, especially during the pandemic, were not part of the OVP but we implemented them when we were there. I hope what happens is that all of it will institutionalized, so that even if we’re gone, we’ll continue)
Meanwhile, regarding the Angat Buhay non-governmental organization, Robredo said it is now currently being registered.
(When it is registered, hopefully — we would have that by July 1, the approval of our registration would have come out by then. But what we want is for everyone to be on board. What we want is that everything’s all set even as we begin.)
Angat Buhay aims to establish the widest volunteer network in the country, helping the marginalized and the vulnerable.
Robredo placed second in the 2022 presidential race with 15 million votes, trailing behind President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. who won with 31 million votes.
