Sorsogon town orders evacuation anew due to another looming Bulusan eruption

LEGAZPI CITY—Residents in ashfall-affected areas in Juban town in Sorsogon were sent back Friday to the evacuation center due to another possible eruption of Mt. Bulusan.

Arian Aguallo, information officer of municipal disaster risk reduction and management officer in Juban, said they ordered the pre-emptive evacuation at 2 p.m. in villages with vulnerable populations.

Salvador Mendoza, spokesperson for the provincial government, said as of 3 p.m., 19 seniors and 14 children from Barangay Puting Sapa were sent to the Juban Evacuation Center in Barangay Tughan.
