MANILA, Philippines — Hot temperature will prevail over Luzon on Friday with high chances of rain and thunder during the afternoon and evening, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

“Patuloy pa rin ang maaliwalas na panahon na may malaking tiyansa ng pagulan at pagkulog sa hapon at gabi,” said Pagasa weather specialist Raymond Ordinario.

(Clear weather continues with a high chance of rain and thunder in the afternoon and evening.)

“Posible pa rin ang mainit na tanghali ang inaasahan dahil mahina pa rin ang ating habagat,” he added.

(It is still possible that a hot afternoon is expected because our southwest is still weak.)

The same weather conditions will also occur in Visayas and Mindanao, said Ordinario, as no major weather systems are still expected to bring widespread rain in both areas on Friday.

No storms are also expected to enter or form within the Philippine area of responsibility in the next three to five days, according to Ordinario.

Pagasa said the temperature range in key cities/areas across the country for Friday will be the following:

No gale warning was raised over the country’s seaboards, Ordinario noted, as they forecast only slight to moderate sea conditions throughout the country’s surrounding coasts.
