MANILA, Philippines — Fair weather will prevail across the country on Wednesday due to the ridge of high pressure area (HPA) extending over the eastern section of Luzon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

“Ngayong araw, ine-expect pa rin natin ‘yong maaliwalas or generally fair weather conditions,” weather specialist Grace Castañeda said in an early morning forecast.

While the southwest monsoon or habagat near the western area of Luzon has slightly weakened,  isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms may still be expected throughout the day, Castañeda added.

Pagasa did not raise any gale warning over the country’s seaboards, but mildly cautioned for high coastal waters during severe thunderstorms.
