500 jobs await Eastern Visayas people in June 12 jobs fair
TACLOBAN CITY—About 500 job vacancies will be up for grabs for those seeking work during a job fair on June 12 by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in Eastern Visayas.
The job fair is part of DOLE’s observance of the country’s Independence Day.
Henry John Jalbuena, DOLE regional director, said 33 local employers are to participate in the event to be held in a shopping mall in the city.
Jalbuena said the job fair was expected to help those seeking employment and the recovery efforts amid the health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jalbuena said among the jobs available during the event are for nurses, call center agents, accounting staff, drivers, store supervisors, and cashiers.
Eastern Visayas had 1.74 million employees, or 93% of employable individuals in January, said the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
