4 of 6 Eastern Visayas provinces have zero COVID-19 cases
TACLOBAN CITY—Four of the six provinces in Eastern Visayas have not recorded a single case of COVID-19 for weeks now.
The Department of Health (DOH) said Tuesday that the provinces with no active COVID-19 cases were Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, Samar, and Biliran.
The provinces in the region which still have COVID-19 cases are Leyte, with four cases, and Southern Leyte, with nine cases.
Of the region’s seven cities, Tacloban remains to have cases of COVID-19 with two.
The city’s two remaining COVID-19 cases are considered “mild.”
Despite the declining COVID-19 cases in the region, DOH regional information officer Jelyn Lopez-Malibago still asked the public to continue to observe all the health protocols and avail themselves of the government’s ongoing vaccination campaign.
