Aid pours in for evacuees displaced by Mt. Bulusan’s eruption

LEGAZPI CITY — President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has sent aid to hundreds of evacuees displaced by the phreatic eruption of Mount Bulusan in Sorsogon province.

Engr. Devar Robrigado, Kilusang Bagong Lipunan chairman and Partido Federal Albay chapter vice chair, said a water purifier truck, which can provide 4,000 liters, is now servicing the affected residents of Barangay Puting Sapa in Juban town.

He said aside from providing clean and potable water, food packs worth P100,000 would also be distributed to displaced villagers

Meanwhile , Brig. Gen. Mario Reyes, Bicol police chief, directed the Sorsogon Police Provincial Office to provide food packs, water and other essential items to the affected residents

“We are all set to extend means to help and assist our kababayan in Sorsogon. We are also consistently coordinating with our partner agencies to monitor the latest updates with regards to the status of Mt. Bulusan to effectively address the current situation,” Reyes said.
