BACOLOD CITY––The number of persons vaccinated in the first two days, on June 2 and 3, of the simultaneous Provincial Vaccination Drive (PVD) against COVID-19 in Negros Occidental fell short of its target.
Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said on Sunday, June 5, that they planned to vaccinate 23,305 persons a day.
However, on June 2, only 3,872, or 17 percent, were vaccinated. The next day, at least 3,446 had themselves vaccinated.
The daily target for senior citizens was 6,414, Diaz said, but only 218 were vaccinated on June 2, or just 3 percent of the target.
The PVD is on Thursdays and Fridays in the first three weeks of June and Monday and Tuesday in the fourth week.
