Robredo congratulates Sara Duterte, says they’re ready to meet with her

MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Leni Robredo has sent out a letter to Vice President-elect Sara Duterte-Carpio congratulating her win in the 2022 polls, adding that the outgoing VP was ready to sit down and talk for a smooth transition.

In a letter dated Monday — copies of which were shared with media — Robredo said they received Duterte-Carpio’s letter dated May 27.

“Dear Vice President-elect Duterte: Warmest congratulations on your proclamation as 15th Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines.  We respectfully acknowledge receipt of your letter dated 27 May 2022 requesting an initial meeting between our respective teams,” Robredo said in the letter.

“Please be advised that we are ready to meet and answer any questions you may have regarding the Office of the Vice President and to take all necessary steps to ensure a smooth transition,” she added.

Robredo said her chief of staff, Undersecretary Philip Dy, will get in touch with Duterte-Carpio’s team.

“Again, congratulations and all the best,” Robredo ended.

Duterte-Carpio through her spokesperson, Liloan town Mayor Christina Frasco, said that they are already arranging for a meeting between the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and the Department of Education — the agency that the Vice President-elect is expected to take charge of.
