LUCENA CITY – A 49-year-old man wanted for murder was shot and killed on Sunday (May 29) night in Candelaria, Quezon police said.
The Candelaria police identified the fatality as Ronilo Yupacina, a resident of Barangay Mangilag Norte.
Police said the victim was driving his motorcycle in Barangay Mangilag Sur around 7:10 p.m. when he was repeatedly shot by a lone gunman.
Yupacina sustained several gunshot wounds and was rushed to United Candelaria Doctors Hospital but died along the way.
Investigators found three spent shells from a .45-caliber pistol on the scene of the crime.
Staff Sergeant Manolito Vitoriano, the case investigator, said Yupacina had a pending murder case.
“He was at large,” Vitorino said in a phone interview.
Further investigation is ongoing.
