Zambales logs 12 active COVID-19 cases

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales–The number of active COVID-19 cases in this province rose to 12 after a new infection was added to the local daily tally on Saturday, May 28.

According to the Provincial Health Office, the latest COVID-19 patient is a resident of Botolan town, which now has three active cases.

The remaining nine active infections were recorded in the towns of Subic (1), Castillejos (6), San Narciso (1) and Candelaria (1).

Data showed that the number of towns in the province that remained free of COVID-19 had dropped to eight. Zambales has 13 municipalities.

At least 11,657 COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the province since 2020. Of this figure, 11,293 have recovered from the viral disease, while 665 have died from it.

As of Saturday, a total of 394, 096 residents in the province have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, reflecting 60.67 percent of its population.
