OLONGAPO CITY–A 32-year-old American woman, who was infected with COVID-19 on May 24, has already recovered from the viral disease, bringing back to zero the active infections in the city, local data showed Saturday, May 28.

The woman, a resident of Barangay (village) Barretto, has been the lone active COVID-19 patient here since May 24, according to the local task force. She was asymptomatic and contracted the virus despite being fully vaccinated.

Prior to her, the city had been free of COVID-19 for at least seven straight days.
