Sara Duterte in talks with OVP, DepEd for ‘smooth’ transition
MANILA, Philippines — Vice President-elect Sara Duterte-Carpio has reached out to the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and the Department of Education’s (DepEd) Office of the Secretary to ensure a “smooth, orderly, and comprehensive transition.”
Duterte-Caprio’s spokesperson, Liloan Mayor Christina Frasco, on Saturday committed to disclose more information about the ongoing transition process as it is taking place.
Aside from winning the vice presidential race in the 2022 national election, Duterte-Carpio was also entrusted to lead the Education department in the incoming administration of President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
She has since expressed her eagerness to “improve the welfare and the quality of education in our country” during her impending six-year term.
Following the appointment of Duterte-Carpio, outgoing DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones remarked that the post will be left “in able hands.”
Meanwhile, the OVP has started preparing for the transition as Robredo’s term nears its end on June 30.
