MANILA, Philippines — Several local government units (LGUs) have suspended classes on Monday (July 7) due to the inclement weather brought by the southwest monsoon and Typhoon Bising (international name: Danas).

Classes are suspended in the following areas:

  • Entire province of Ilocos Sur – all levels, public and private schools; work in public offices
  • Lingayen, Pangasinan – all levels, public and private schools
  • Masantol, Pampanga – all levels, public and private schools
  • Bauang, La Union – all levels, public and private schools
  • Entire province of Ilocos Norte – kindergarten and elementary, public and private schools
  • Basista, Pangasinan – day care to Senior High School, public and private schools
  • Sual, Pangasinan – all levels, public and private schools (schools are advised to shift to modular distance learning)
  • Malolos, Bulacan (in person classes; kindergarten to Senior High School, public and private schools)

  • Malabon City – all levels, public and private schools

  • Natividad, Pangasinan – pre-school to Senior High School, public and private schools

  • Asingan, Pangasinan – all levels, public and private schools

  • Binmaley, Pangasinan (in-person classes; kindergarten to Senior High School) (shift to modular learning)

  • Bungalon, Pangasinan (in person; all levels, public to private schools) (shift to modular learning)

  • Labrador, Pangasinan – kindergarten to Senior High School, public and private schools

  • Masinloc, Zambales – all levels, public and private schools

  • Rosales, Pangasinan – all levels, public and private schools

  • Santa Maria, Pangasinan – all levels, public and private schools

  • Umingan, Pangasinan – all levels, public and private schools

  • Aringay, La Union – all levels, public and private schools

  • Palauig, Zambales – all levels, public and private schools

In its 5 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Bising slightly weakened as it moved over the northwestern portion of Taiwan.

As of 4 a.m., its center was located 405 kilometers north-northwest of Itbayat, Batanes.

It re-entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) at 11 p.m. on Sunday and made landfall over the southwestern portion of Taiwan at 11:50 p.m. on the same day.

Pagasa said Bising is expected to exit the PAR on Monday morning.
