Bataan farmers get P33.6M aid from DA
DINALUPIHAN, Bataan –– More than 6,700 farmers and 26 farmer cooperatives received Tuesday assistance under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund-Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RCEF-RFFA) program of the Department of Agriculture.
The program gave P33.66 million to Bataan’s 6,732 rice farmers, who received P5,000 cash aid each.
At least 26 corn farmers and fisherfolk in the province received P3,000 worth of fuel discount vouchers each under the DA’s fuel discount program.
Twenty-six farmer cooperatives and associations in Bataan received farm machinery worth P32.7 million from the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization under RCEF’s mechanization component.
Agriculture Secretary William Dar and Bataan Gov. Albert Garcia led the distribution of financial assistance.
