LUCENA CITY – Police arrested a suspected drug peddler Thursday and seized more than P173,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in Candelaria town in Quezon province.

Police Colonel Joel Villanueva, Quezon police chief, said anti-illegal drugs operatives collared Ramon Exconde, 45, at 2:30 a.m. after he allegedly sold meth in a plastic sachet to an undercover cop in Barangay (village) Sta. Catalina Sur.

Arresting police officers seized three sachets of shabu weighing 8.5 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P57,800 and worth P173,400 in the street market.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being readied against the suspect.
