MANILA, Philippines — Two detained executives of the Pharmally Pharmaceuticals, Inc. will remain in jail until the end of 18th Congress, according to Sen. Richard Gordon, who denied reports that the duo may be released on June 3.
Gordon made the announcement after the executives’ lawyer Ferdinand Topacio claimed that the Senate was set to release his clients on June 3.
Pharmally executives Mohit Dargani and Linconn Ong were detained at the Pasay City jail for contempt of the Senate after they refused to cooperate with senators.
Pharmally was awarded close to P12 billion in supply contracts, mainly for face masks, face shields, personal protective equipment, and COVID-19 test kits, by the Department of Budget and Management.
