TUGUEGARAO CITY––The bodies of a man and his son were recovered on Sunday, May 15, after they drowned in a river in Natonin town, Mountain Province, authorities said Monday.

Police identified the fatalities as Rindo Charwasen and his son, Renz Ardel Charwasen, a Grade 4 pupil.

An initial investigation showed that the two went swimming and fishing around noon on May 14 in a river in Barangay Banawel.

Relatives said the victims failed to return home that day.

After a day, rescuers found Rindo’s body floating in a five-meter-deep portion of the river. The body of Rindo’s son was also recovered around two meters away.
