Cloudy skies, scattered rain over E. Visayas, Mindanao due to LPA, ITCZ
MANILA, Philippines — Eastern Visayas and Mindanao could expect overcast skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms in the next 24 hours due to a low-pressure area (LPA) embedded along the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), the weather bureau said Friday.
In its latest weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was last located 220 kilometers east of Davao City.
Flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains, it warned.
Easterlies or localized thunderstorms, meanwhile, are expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
Pagasa also warned that flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
