Robin Padilla still leads Senate race in Comelec’s second official report

MANILA, Philippines — Former action star-turned-politician Robin Padilla is still leading the senatorial race in the partial and official tally of the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

According to Report No. 2 released on Thursday afternoon by Comelec, sitting as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC), Padilla now has 13,231,228 votes.

Padilla is followed by Antique Rep. Loren Legarda with 12,290,805 million votes, and broadcaster Raffy Tulfo with 12,223,867 votes — rounding up the top three as of now.

The other candidates in the Magic 12 are the following:

Senator Win Gatchalian (10.42 million votes)
Sorsogon Governor Francis Escudero (10.40 million votes)
Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano (9.852 million votes)
DPWH Secretary Mark Villar (9.799 million votes)
Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri (9.610 million votes)
Senator Joel Villanueva (9.488 million votes)
former senator JV Ejercito (8.005 million votes)
Senator Risa Hontiveros (7.826 million votes)
former senator Jinggoy Estrada (7.678 million votes)

The latest tally also showed former vice president Jejomar Binay dropping out of the Magic 12, now ranking 13th with 6.882 million votes. During the first report, he was still inside the Magic 12, just below Zubiri.

It is now the third day of canvassing for the NBOC.
