CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has been proclaimed as the winner in Pampanga’s second district congressional race where she ran unopposed.

Arroyo, 75, was proclaimed by Comelec provincial director Atty. Rommel Rama and provincial prosecutor Atty. Lamberto Gonzales Jr. on Tuesday night at the Benigno Aquino Jr. Hall at the Capitol grounds.

Also proclaimed on Tuesday night was Rep. Anna York Bondoc-Sagum of the province’s fourth district.

Vice Gov. Lilia Pineda, who sought reelection without a rival, was proclaimed for a second term.

Five provincial board members were also proclaimed winners: Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab, Fritzie David-Dizon (2nd District), Atty. Jun Canlas (3rd District), Nelson Calara and Pol Balingit (4th District).

They are scheduled to take their oath on June 30, 2022. INQ
