LEGAZPI CITY – Carmen Geraldine Rosal, wife of incumbent Mayor Noel Rosal who is now the governor-elect of Albay province, has been proclaimed winner of Legazpi City mayoral race on Tuesday morning.
Based on the data from the Commission on Elections, Rosal got 57,687 votes, defeating her rival Ako Bicol Rep. Alfredo Garbin Jr. who received 57,137 votes.
Geraldine last held the position of Legazpi City mayor in 2010 to 2013 before her husband Noel took over at the subsequent local elections.
Vice Mayor Bobby Cristobal also had a successful reelection bid, beating Alan Rañola. Cristobal got 56,380 while Rañola had 50,465 votes.
Proclaimed city councilors were Law Beltran, Joseph Philip Lee, Glenn Casulla, Luis Felipe Gutierrez, Al Barizo, Renato Valladolid, Ismael Buban IV, Alexander Jao, Butch Lucila and Sunshine Imperial.
