Unopposed mayor, vice mayor in Zambales town proclaimed

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Mayor-elect Elmer “Elvis” Ragadio Soria and vice mayor-elect Christoper “Jimbo” Gongora of San Marcelino town in this province have been proclaimed by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) early Tuesday morning.

Both Soria, a reelectionist, and Gongora, a first-time candidate, ran unopposed in the local elections.

Soria has been a mayor since 2016 and will be serving his third and last term.

He served three terms as a municipal councilor from 2001 to 2010 and became vice mayor from 2013 to 2016 before he ran as mayor.

During the proclamation, Soria thanked the residents for supporting him.

Also proclaimed were the winning municipal councilors.
