MANILA, Philippines — Partido Lakas ng Masa presidential candidate Leody de Guzman and his running mate, former Rep. Walden Bello, cast their votes in their respective precincts on Monday morning.
De Guzman and his family voted at around 8 a.m. at Cainta Elementary School in San Andres, Cainta, while Bello voted at E. Rodriguez Jr. High School in La Loma, Quezon City.
In an interview with reporters, De Guzman said he was not worried about what the election results would be because when he decided to run for president to push for workers’ causes, he already “balanced such things.”
He said he was thankful for the chance to air workers’ concerns during the campaign season.
“Don’t vote to make the candidate win. Vote to make the Filipino nation win,” De Guzman later said in a post on Twitter.
De Guzman and Bello are among the tailenders in the presidential and vice-presidential surveys, rating less than half a percent most of the time.
