Magalong, 2 other reelectionists in Baguio proclaimed winners in local polls

BAGUIO CITY — Reelectionist Mayor Benjamin Magalong has been proclaimed winner by the Commission on Elections in the local polls.

“Maraming, maraming salamat Baguio at ipinagkatiwala niyo sa akin muli ang pagiging ama ng Baguio City,” Magalong said in a statement.

He added: “I am inspired to serve you even better and set a higher standard for what you deserve from your public servants. I look forward to serving you better.”

The former police general and chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group cited his administration’s COVID-19 response as his top achievement during his first term.

“Good governance that goes beyond political leanings” has been his rallying call during the campaign.

Reelectionists Baguio Rep. Marquez Go and Vice Mayor Faustino Olowan were also proclaimed winners after garnering a wide margin against their closest rivals. INQ
