Fernando, allies winning in Bulacan polls

GUIGUINTO, Bulacan — Reelectionist Gov. Daniel Fernando is poised to seal his second-term victory after garnering 674,635 votes against the 392,759 votes obtained by his rival, Vice Gov. Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado, based on the 67.82 percent of votes cast as reflected in the partial and unofficial results from the transparency server of the Commission on Elections.

Fernando’s running mate, Board Member Alex Castro, is also seen winning with 510,586 votes against 420,721 votes obtained by Alvarado’s running mate, former governor and third district Rep. Joselito Mendoza.

Alvarado’s son, third-termer First District Rep. Jonathan Sy-Alvarado, is seen losing to former Malolos Mayor Danilo Domingo with 127,726 votes against the 75,487 votes for Alvarado based on 64.39 percent of the total votes cast.

Guiguinto Mayor Ambrosio Cruz Jr. is also winning with 75,608 votes against 63,325 votes for rival Arnel Alcaraz. INQ
