NAGA CITY — Some in tears but most still hopeful, supporters of presidential aspirant Vice President Leni Robredo have gathered in this city’s Plaza Quince Martires for a prayer vigil as her opponent presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. took the lead in the partial and unofficial count of votes by the Commission on Elections Monday night.
Hundreds flocked to the Plaza Quince Martires to pray the rosary together around 11 p.m. after Solid Leni Bicol Youth posted an invitation to supporter on social media.
The prayer vigil was organized after several supporters raised concern over the seemingly anomalous lead that Marcos Jr. was having at the Comelec initial and partial count.
Robredo supporters from different areas of the country alleged that the Comelec result was not possible because a big chunk of votes was still not transmitted from the provinces.
The supporters prayed around an image of Bicol patroness Our Lady of Peñafrancia which was dressed in pink clothes, Robredo’s campaign color.
