Vote-buying reported in several Bataan towns

BALANGA CITY, Bataan–Residents in Bataan province reported several incidents of alleged vote buying even before election day.

In the northern towns of Dinalupihan, Hermosa, Orani and Samal, rampant vote-buying activities were observed, with some voters reportedly receiving cash ranging from P1,500 to P2,00 each.

A supporter of an unidentified mayoral candidate was reportedly held by a group of men of another politician while about to deliver money on Sunday, May 8.

Police have yet to verify the reports, and local politicians or their campaign leaders have yet to issue statements about the allegations.  /ra
