DAGUPAN CITY, Philippines–The board of canvassers of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) convened at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 9, at the Sangguniang Panglungsod. It declared a recess 30 minutes later.
The board is composed of Michael Sarmiento, city Comelec officer as chair; prosecutor Maria Victoria Cabrera; and city superintendent Aguedo Agbayani.
Sarmiento said the board would reconvene at 6:30 p.m. at the same venue before the precincts close at 7 p.m.
Meanwhile, in Lingayen the provincial board of canvassers also convened at the Sanguniang Panlalawigan.
Sarmiento said the transmission of votes may take about an hour, but would depend on the Internet connectivity in the barangays. /ra
