LUCENA CITY––Voting in some precincts in this city was delayed due to technical glitches in vote-counting machines (VCMs).
In clustered precinct number 63 in Lucena South 1 Elementary School, the delay was more than an hour after the VCM could not produce the voter’s receipt.
“Tumambak na ang mga botante (The voters have piled up),” Ronilo Dagos, one of the voters told the Inquirer.
However, despite the VCM woes, not one of the dismayed voters left the polling area and stayed to vote while a technician fixed the defective unit.
“I will stay here until I cast my vote. I want to be a part of this historic election,” Pedro Mendoza, a retired government employee, said.
