Paref eye PSDL sweep

THE PAREF Springdale Titans gun for a sweep of the titles in the 1st Private Schools Developmental League as they take on the San Isidro Parish School in the championship game today over at the Springdale gym in Lahug.

The Titans will be up against a formidable foe as SIPS is the only squad in the tournament that has managed to defeat them.

They will be trying to keep their string of good luck in the competition, especially after their narrow escape in the semifinals. Springdale got past the Mt. Olives Christian Academy by the skin of their teeth as two-sport star Juan Antonio Carcel made the game-winning three-pointer that salvaged the win, 47-46, and got them into the finals.

SIPS were more dominant in their semifinal encounter against Cherish School as they blasted the latter, 53-37.

The Titans nabbed the crown in the elementary division after they routed the Center for International Education, 39-14. Sean Quitives, the league MVP, paced the winners with nine points, the same output as Deo Ong. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
